Ukrainian company Vyriy Drone has announced the start of mass production of FPV drones with auto-guidance function and thermal imaging camera for target detection. This was reported by Oleksii Babenko, a representative of the company.
These drones became the basis for the "People's FPV" course, which has already been successfully completed by tens of thousands of Ukrainians.
According to Babenko, it is planned to release several thousand such drones by the end of May (the final number depends on the supply of components). The company's FPV drones are equipped with thermal imaging cameras, which greatly facilitates the process of identifying targets using computer vision systems.
"Thermal imaging allows you to effectively detect camouflaged vehicles and infantry, which is one of the most difficult tasks," explained the top manager.
The "machine vision" system is an additional feature for conventional UAVs, which allows FPV drones to automatically capture targets without the participation of a pilot, which increases efficiency and helps avoid enemy EW systems. The development of an autopilot for copters also proved to be a difficult task, but was successfully solved. The production facilities of the Vyriy Drone company are distributed throughout Ukraine, giving preference to the cities most protected by air defense systems. The company is taking measures to ensure the protection of drone collection sites from possible attacks and theft of technology by the Russian occupiers.
