Ukraine stopped the practice of assigning the status of "limited fitness for military service". Under the Military Social Security Entitlement Act, draftees with this status will be required to go through a re-commissioning process where they are deemed fit or unfit for service. Changes for this category of citizens will be announced by the relevant authorities.
Persons with the status of "limited fitness for military service" are required to undergo a repeated medical examination in order to receive a new category. This process started on May 18 after the new mobilization law came into effect and will continue until February 4, 2025. It is also necessary to update your data at the Territorial Military Commissariats.
The law on military medical examination in the Armed Forces of Ukraine stipulates that after a medical examination, former persons with limited fitness may receive one of several statuses, depending on the established diagnosis, including unfitness for military service, temporary unfitness or fitness for service in certain directions.
Changes in the VLK system took effect on May 4, when the Ministry of Defense introduced changes to Order No. 402 regarding the work of military medical commissions. These changes almost completely eliminated the individual fitness assessment.
In parallel with this, on March 26, the Verkhovna Rada registered two resolutions on the repeal of Law No. 10313, which provided for a mandatory repeated medical examination for men deemed to be of limited fitness for military service.
