The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, identified joint defense production with Sweden as a priority for the country. He made this statement during the "Society and Defense" conference. Zelensky noted that Ukraine has always sought to be one of the most important European security donors and emphasized the need to have access to the best weapons and equipment in the world. Joint production with Sweden is a strategic priority for Ukraine.
The President also expressed gratitude to Sweden for its contribution to the defense support of Ukraine, noting that the provided equipment and weapons are already helping to save the lives of soldiers.
Speaking about other initiatives, Zelensky noted that Ukraine has already started joint defense activities with other countries, such as Turkey, Romania, Poland, and Great Britain. Agreements were also reached on cooperation with the Czech Republic, the United States, and Germany.
In the context of the fight against Russian aggression, Zelensky emphasized the importance of a single European arms industry. He also expressed hope that the efforts of international allies will help Ukraine in the fight against potential Russian aggression, which may also be directed against NATO countries.
