As of October 4, only one of Ukraine's nine nuclear power units remains under scheduled maintenance. This was reported by acting Petro Kotin, Chairman of the Board of Energoatom NAEC, reports Ukrinform.
"The main task was to overload all power units so that they were ready for work. These are nine power units located on the controlled territory of Ukraine. There is only one power unit left, which is planned to be connected in mid-October," Kotin said.
According to Kotin, Energoatom is actively preparing for the heating season. For each nuclear power plant, 100 measures have been developed to ensure uninterrupted operation during the winter cold. The training covers maintenance, modernization of equipment and ensuring the stable operation of the country's energy system.
The planned connection of the last power unit to the power grid will provide additional stability during the heating season, when the demand for electricity increases significantly.
