Electricity tariffs are a concern for many Ukrainians, as prices for services and goods are constantly rising. We found out what is happening with electricity bills now and what to expect in the near future.
Currently, household consumers pay 4.32 hryvnia per kilowatt-hour. For owners of two-zone meters, the tariff is half as low at night (from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.). And with three-zone electricity metering, even more favorable conditions apply: at night, a kilowatt costs 1.73 hryvnia, while during peak load hours (8–11 a.m. and 8–10 p.m.) the price reaches 6.48 hryvnia.
It is worth mentioning the beneficiaries separately - discounts on electricity for some categories range from 25% to 100%.
On August 26, the National Energy Regulatory Commission of Ukraine (NERC) decided to raise tariffs for distribution system operators. This is necessary so that regional energy companies can pay off their debts to Ukrenergo and prepare for winter. For industrial consumers, the tariff will increase by 14% for the first voltage class and by 23% for the second.
The largest increase is expected for Kirovohradoblenergo, Rivneoblenergo, and Khmelnytskyiblenergo. The smallest increase is expected for Lvivoblenergo, Cherkasyoblenergo, and Chernihivoblenergo. From October 1, tariffs are planned to be revised in frontline regions — Mykolaiv, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions.
For the population, the tariff in September and October will remain unchanged - 4.32 UAH/kWh. However, the forecasts of the Ministry of Economy indicate that in 2026–2028 the price for household consumers may increase by approximately 15% each year.
According to calculations:
-
in 2026 the tariff will be 4.75–5.18 UAH;
-
in 2027 — 5.22–6.2 UAH;
-
in 2028 — 5.7–7.44 UAH.
For now, these are just predictions, and specific decisions are still to come.
