Ukrainians in the United States under the Uniting for Ukraine (U4U) program or applying for an extension of their parole will have to pay $1,000 to issue or renew their parole. The change was announced by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), noting that the fee will be effective from October 16, 2025 and will be adjusted annually for inflation in accordance with HR 1.
USCIS explains: The fee is charged when an individual is physically present in the United States and is granted parole or re-parole. If the application is pre-approved with a fee, the applicant will receive a notice with instructions and a payment deadline. No admission will be granted without timely payment.
The agency also notes that in some cases, exceptions to the payment requirement may be possible. The details of such exceptions will be determined by USCIS on an individual basis during the review of the application.
For U4U beneficiaries, this means that all new applications for parole or renewal must include a fee payment step after USCIS notifies them. It is important to note that this is the immigration fee for granting (or renewing) parole status, not other fees.
