Ukraine is actively looking for the necessary energy equipment both in neighboring countries and in other parts of the world. This necessity arose as a result of the devastating impact of Russian strikes on the energy infrastructure. This was announced by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko.
According to the minister, it is still difficult to assess the full extent of the damage caused to the energy system of Ukraine, since many objects have been damaged and are in ruins, and it is difficult to reach them. However, damages are already estimated at billions of hryvnias, Galushchenko emphasized.
Ukrainian officials noted that the attack had already affected 6 gigawatts of electricity production, three times the amount Ukraine planned to import from its Western allies this winter.
Galushchenko emphasized that Ukraine is actively looking for necessary energy equipment around the world to replace damaged ones. However, he warned that this could be futile if the country does not have sufficient means of defense against air attacks and adequate anti-missile systems.
The energy minister also warned that Ukraine's electricity tariff could rise due to new Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, and the government is considering different options to respond to this situation.
We will remind that on April 4, the Ukrenergo control center was forced to perform temporary power outages in some regions from 18:20 to 22:00.
Earlier, we noted that one of the methods of ensuring the reliability of the energy system from the destructive impact of Russian attacks is the deployment of generating capacity through the construction of hundreds of small power plants.
