The Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, visited Kharkiv to sign an agreement on cooperation in the field of defense and protection against armed aggression by Russia. The agreements envisage increasing the stability of Ukraine through the continuous provision of assistance in the field of security and modern military equipment. The agreement also includes strengthening the potential of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, implementation of NATO concepts and operational procedures, joint training and increased interoperability with the alliance's member countries.
The Netherlands has promised to provide Ukraine with 2 billion euros in military support in 2024 to strengthen its defense potential. The transfer of 22 military patrol boats and three CB90 vessels from the Dutch police and border guards is also expected.
In addition, the Netherlands indicated its readiness to take part in the recovery and reconstruction of the Ukrainian economy, in particular, in the development of entrepreneurship, the promotion of investments in "green" technologies and digital transformation, as well as in countering non-military threats, including cyber measures and the protection of critical infrastructure.
