The Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine is actively working on creating a register of producers of technical hemp, which will include information on cultivation volumes. Taras Vysotskyi, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, announced this.
The initiative is aimed at streamlining the circulation of cannabis in the medical, industrial and scientific spheres, and takes place within the framework of draft law No. 7457. It is noted that work on the register and sampling regulations began even before the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, signed the corresponding draft law.
Vysotsky emphasized that the creation of a register of producers of technical hemp aims to ensure transparency in the field of cultivation, to determine the volumes and use of seeds. In addition, he emphasized that producers will not be required to obtain licenses or separate permits for cultivation, and the government is preparing a regulation on the regulation of hemp sampling during flowering.
In December 2023, the parliament adopted in the second reading draft law No. 7457 "On regulation of circulation of plants of the hemp genus (Cannabis) for medical, industrial purposes, scientific and scientific and technical activities."
The main purpose of this document is to simplify procedures for the medical use of drugs containing cannabis, as well as assigning the government the task of expanding the list of medicinal products based on this plant.
