The Ukrainian defense-industrial complex is actively working on the development of weapons and equipment aimed at deterring a possible enemy attack. However, the need for support from allies remains unchanged.
Representatives of the Congress commission on national security strategy visited Kyiv on an official visit. They not only inspected the production, but also noted significant improvements in the characteristics of the Neptune cruise missiles.
We will remind that it was these missiles that allowed the Defense Forces to effectively sink the cruiser "Moskva". Ukraine's plans for 2024 include an increase in the volume of production of such equipment by at least 10 times, and it is also planned to increase the flight range to 1,000 kilometers.
The American guests emphasized the importance of tactical drones and FPV drones on the battlefield. Now Ukraine urgently needs artillery shells of 155 mm caliber, so attack drones have been identified as the main means of attack.
The Ministry of Defense plans to purchase 1.2 million UAVs for military personnel in 2024. According to the Deputy Head of the Ministry, Lieutenant General Ivan Gavrylyuk, the development of a new version of the missile for the Neptune complex is underway. Currently, they are actively working on the creation of the so-called "long Neptune" - a new modification of the rocket for this complex.
