The situation on the labor market in Ukraine remains extremely difficult: today, about $8 million of Ukrainians are neither working nor looking for work. These statistics are of growing concern among both economists and government representatives, after which they demonstrate deep problems in the country's economy against the backdrop of war and instability.
This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economy Tetyana Berezhna during a speech at the Kyiv International Economic Forum.
According to her, among the unemployed are people with disabilities and veterans who "did not find themselves in the labor market", as well as women who cannot combine "fulfilment of family and work responsibilities".
The deputy minister emphasized that the state should direct efforts to return these people to the labor market, as the shortage of workers in the economy is 4.5 million people.
