In Ukraine, positive dynamics are observed in the market of hybrid cars. During September 2024, the country's car fleet was replenished with more than 2,000 hybrid cars (HEV and PHEV), which is 22% more than in September last year, Ukravtoprom reports in Telegram.
Of this number, new cars accounted for 60%, which is slightly more than 59% last year. Toyota RAV-4 remains the leader of the hybrid market among new cars, with 280 registered vehicles. The second most popular model is the Toyota Yaris Cross (79 cars), and the third place is occupied by the Nissan Qashqai with 56 cars sold.
Among the imported used cars with hybrid power plants, the Kia Niro leads the way — 54 units. Second and third places are occupied by the Ford Fusion US with 50 vehicles and the Toyota Prius with 49.
In September, the Ukrainian fleet was also replenished with more than 4,200 battery-powered electric vehicles (BEVs). Although demand for electric vehicles decreased by 0.2% compared to last September, the hybrid market continues to show growth.
In addition, almost 17,000 used cars imported from abroad appeared on Ukrainian license plates last month. The average age of these cars is more than nine years, indicating a steady demand for more affordable cars.
