In Ukraine, large-scale changes in the field of taxation of income received through online platform are being prepared. The Cabinet of Ministers initiated a bill that will oblige digital services such as ONLYFANS, GLOVO, UKlon, Booking , declare their profits and pay taxes.
The draft law, initiated by the Cabinet of Ministers, provides for the introduction of a special tax system for users of digital platforms, including couriers, taxi drivers, tenants and content makers.
According to the law, users of platform platforms will have to pay 10% of taxes: 5% of personal income tax (PIT) and 5% of military fees. For example, the Glovo courier, which earns 20 thousand hryvnias a month, will have to pay 2 thousand hryvnias of tax.
The new law also defines the rules for declaring income for platforms such as Bolt (Estonia), Glovo (Spain) and Booking (Netherlands). The bill is partially related to European integration and one of the conditions of the IMF, because it provides for automatic exchange of information between countries.
It is worth noting that the law does not apply to US platforms such as Uber, since the United States has not signed an automatic information exchange agreement.
Also, if the annual income of the platform user exceeds UAH 5 million, then the tax rate will increase to 18%, and in this case it will be more profitable to register as a FOP.
The bill covers a wide range of activities, including the lease of real estate, vehicles, personal services and the sale of goods through online platforms.
