Ukrainians abroad will begin to issue passports

Men of Ukraine aged 18 to 60 years who have submitted passport documents by April 25, 2024 will be able to get them from next week. The Minister of Internal Affairs Igor Klimenko has informed about it in his Telegram channel.

According to the minister, the government regulated the mechanism of issuing documents to Ukrainians who are abroad. Passports can be obtained in the units of SE “Document” in the order of the order of submission. Citizens who are waiting for documents will send a message indicating the date, time and place of arrival.

At the same time, to obtain a passport, it remains a prerequisite for the presence of military accounting documents for men of conscript age.

Earlier, a law on mobilization was adopted in Ukraine, according to which military persons abroad cannot receive consular services, if not on military registration. This applies not only to passports, but also to official employment.

In January, the deputy head of the Presidential Office Irina Vereshchuk reported that the issue of passports was resolved on the personal order of Vladimir Zelensky. According to her, only in Poland more than 80 thousand Ukrainians were waiting for their documents.

Despite the renewal of passports for those who submitted the documents by April 2024, the issue for other categories of citizens remains open. It is still unknown whether other men can issue new passports.
