Volodymyr Filippov, the owner of Iron Motors and Southern Way, which specialize in the import of used cars from the United States, continued his business abroad after problems with the law in Ukraine and Russia. He now works in Moldova, where a new version of the company - Iron Motors is registered.
According to official data, in 2013, Filippov was sentenced to three years in prison in Russia for real estate fraud. After the scandals, criminal proceedings and lawsuits in Ukraine, he left the country and settled in Moldova, where he started working under a familiar brand.
Iron Motors business model in Moldova provides car imports from the US with attractive discounts and bonuses that are actively advertised on social networks. However, according to clients, after the conclusion of the transactions, unexpected additional costs appear.
The partner of Filippov in this case is Maxim Gushan - a native of the city of Grigoriopol (Transnistria), who has Russian citizenship. His passport of the Russian Federation (series 4614 №703265) was published in October 2014 - after the beginning of Russian aggression in Crimea. In addition, Gushan also has a foreign passport issued by the Russian Federation in Moldova.
Gushan regularly visits Moscow, where he has real estate, as evidenced by publications on social networks of his family. This raises the question of the nature of business relationships between the Filippov and citizen of the aggressor country.
