The SVARGA brand, in cooperation with the museum named after Ivan Franko in Lviv, presented a new embroidered shirt, which is a replica of one of the favorite copies that belonged to the great writer. This men's embroidered shirt, called "Constellation", was created based on one of the favorite examples used by Ivan Franko, popularizer of Ukrainian clothing, poet and novelist.
The design of the shirt impresses with wide sleeves and decorative embroidery of geometric shapes on the chest. The pattern looks like machine embroidery, perfectly imitating hand embroidery techniques.
This particular shirt, from which the ornament was recreated, belonged to the Frank family and is the only preserved item of clothing of a prominent Ukrainian. Made using the Poltava "white on white" technique, it has a special historical status.
According to the information on the museum's website, this shirt was presented to Ivan Franko by Kharkiv poetess Khrystia Alchevska in 1913, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of his literary and social activities. Later, in 1925, the writer's daughter, Anna Franko-Klyuchko, found this shirt in the attic of the family house. In 1948, she took her to Canada, where she lived with her family as a memory of her father. During her first visit to Soviet Ukraine in July 1967, Anna presented this shirt to the museum.
The SVARGA brand has already presented seven modern models in its "Frank's embroidery" collection, which reproduce ancient patterns of Frank's embroidery. Ivan Franko was a pioneer in the introduction of embroidery into the everyday wardrobe, and this brand continues his tradition, considering embroidery not only a festive element, but also a part of quality everyday life.
