On November 17, Ukrposhta JSC signed an agreement with the American company iGlobal Exports LLC (Zonos) to provide services for paying customs duties to the US Customs and Border Protection. The contract is worth $8 million (UAH 336.32 million), and is valid until the end of 2026.
Under the terms of the agreement, Zonos will collect customs duties on shipments bound for the United States and remit them to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The agreement is exclusive — only Zonos can provide the services. The company will also provide Ukrposhta with free access to its platforms and API, which simplifies the calculation and payment of customs duties for postal customers.
The reason for the cooperation was the cancellation of the duty-free import regime (de minimis) by US President Donald Trump on July 30, 2025, which came into effect on August 29. Now all postal items, even low-value ones, are subject to customs duties. Their clearance requires a certified customs agent, which is what Zonos has become.
Ukrposhta noted that the partnership with Zonos allowed it to quickly adapt processes to new requirements and ensure uninterrupted processing of international shipments to the USA.
Founded in 2009 in Utah, Zonos operates as a platform to facilitate cross-border shipping, customs payments, and compliance with international regulations. The company already works with postal services in other countries, including Israel, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
