According to the speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress, Mike Johnson, the adoption of the bill on financing assistance to Ukraine will depend on the extent to which the White House presents a strategy to support Kyiv. The Republican representative also pointed out that there are important issues that need attention and stressed the need to protect US borders before providing assistance to other countries.
Johnson noted that the Republicans are waiting for the White House to give specific answers to questions about the strategy regarding Ukraine, as well as about the responsible use of resources. By refusing to provide the necessary information, the White House is creating obstacles in the consideration of further decisions regarding the financing of aid to Ukraine, Johnson noted.
In addition, the former head of the CIA, David Petraeus, expressed the opinion that the support of the United States is important for Ukraine, since its success can affect the strategic plans of Russian President Putin. Petraeus emphasized the need for continuous multibillion-dollar support for Ukraine to stop Russia's aggression and protect EU countries from further threats.
