A special headquarters has been created under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, which will be responsible for issues and control of preparations for the heating season in the regions. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in his Telegram channel after a meeting with the heads of regional military administrations.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister Oleksiy Kuleba and Deputy Head of the Office of the President Viktor Mykyta. The participants discussed the preparation for winter, as well as the necessary measures for the protection of energy facilities, the formation of reserves and the development of decentralized generation.
Shmyhal noted that the main task is to take into account all possible scenarios and respond promptly to emergency situations. "We have to move in these issues in a coordinated and fast manner," the Prime Minister emphasized.
In addition, the meeting discussed the restoration of critical infrastructure, the reconstruction of key facilities and the construction of shelters in schools. For the effective management of priority projects, a Strategic Investment Council was created, which will deal with the preparation of projects important to communities and the attraction of international investments.
Shmyhal emphasized the importance of active participation of local authorities in submitting applications for project financing. He also reminded that last winter, despite shelling, did not become critically difficult for Ukraine, but this year the situation may be more difficult due to significant losses of energy capacities.
