In the Odessa region, law enforcement officers exposed a criminal scheme of illegal disposal of toxic waste, which causes more than 2,200 square meters. m of lands. The case appears in the case of the deputy of the Safyanovsky village council and four of its accomplices.
According to the Odessa Regional Prosecutor's Office, the suspects were organized by an enterprise that had to serve the vessels. However, instead of the proper disposal of flax waters containing petroleum products, the waste was simply poured into a solid waste landfill in the Izmail district.
In order to conceal the crime, the attackers have drawn up a contract with a licensed company for the disposal of hazardous substances, but in fact there was no disposal.
Illegal activity caused environmental damage for more than UAH 2.4 million. All the suspects have already chosen a preventive measure - detention with the possibility of bail.
Investigations were conducted by prosecutors of the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor's Office of Odesa, together with investigators of the police and employees of the strategic investigation management.
