A terrible crime took place in one of the special schools of the Ternopil region: an 8-year-old child was subjected to sexual violence, and other pupils of the educational institution were "sedated" with the help of psychotropic drugs. This incident was reported by the ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets, who condemned the actions of the institution's employees and promised to take the necessary measures to punish the guilty and protect the injured children.
Earlier, the prosecutor's office had already announced the opening of a criminal case on this matter. The ombudsman was told other details of keeping children in a boarding school for children with special needs.
"Two cases of sexual violence between children have been established. The youngest victim is 8 years old," said lawyer Iryna Miroshnychenko, who conducted the inspection.
Also, according to her, some children "for bad behavior" were sent to a local psychiatric hospital, where they were injected with powerful sedatives without doctors' orders, after which they became "like vegetables."
"Drugs, in particular psychotropics and tranquilizers, are given to children without a doctor's prescription, control and without confirming the diagnosis," Lubinets also stated.
In addition, the inspectors stated that the children were kept in poor conditions - hot water is given twice a week for two hours, they are fed sandwiches with hot water, unsanitary conditions prevail everywhere.
The furniture in the rooms is broken, there are practically no toys in the playroom. At the same time, in one of the premises, traces of a party with alcohol for boarding school workers were found.
