According to a report by the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Ukraine has the highest death rate among countries in the world. In 2024, the death rate in Ukraine reached 18.6 deaths per 1,000 people, which took it to the first place in this overall ranking. Lithuania and Serbia also make the list of countries with high death rates, ranking second and third respectively, while Russia ranks 9th.
