During more than 23 months of war in Ukraine, 1,523 objects of medical facilities were damaged, and another 195 were completely destroyed. This is reported by the Ministry of Health.
"As of the beginning of February 2024, as a result of the full-scale war provoked by Russia against Ukraine, 1,523 medical facilities were damaged, and another 195 were completely destroyed," the statement said.
The Ministry of Health indicates that as a result of enemy shelling, medical institutions of Kharkiv, Donetsk, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions were the most affected. There is currently no data for Luhansk region.
Since the start of the conflict, the Russian army has also damaged 103 emergency medical vehicles, destroyed 258 vehicles and captured 125 ambulances.
At the moment, it was possible to fully restore 502 medical facilities, and another 362 have been partially restored or are in the process of being restored.
Particular attention is paid to the restoration of those medical facilities that have suffered minor damage, such as damaged windows or facades. Most of the restored institutions are located in Mykolaiv Oblast, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Kyiv Oblast, Kharkiv Oblast and Chernihiv Oblast. Restoration work continues.
In particular, in the Kharkiv region, two more dispensaries of the Center for Primary Health Care of the Dergachiv City Council, which suffered significant damage as a result of massive shelling, were restored.
