The Ukrainian Heritage Monitoring Lab (NeMo) team, specialized in monitoring Ukrainian heritage, has successfully created a 3D model of the Museum of Corporal General of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) Roman Shukhevych in Bilogorshche, Lviv region. Unfortunately, the museum was completely destroyed during the Russian attack on January 1.
The team emphasized that already on the day of the attack, January 1, their experts were on the scene and documented. Yurko Honek, Andriy Yamelinets and Vasyl Shchutyak from the "Institute of Geoinformation Systems" directly created a 3D model (geo-referenced point cloud) of the destroyed museum, including its surrounding area, using the photogrammetric method.
HeMo added that in 2021, the Skeiron team made a 3D model of the entire museum of UPA Corporal Roman Shukhevych. There you can see the plan of the building, its section, individual rooms, exhibits. The HeMo monitoring team believes that these models together can help with the restoration of the museum in the future.
On January 1, the museum of Roman Shukhevich in Bilogorshche was almost completely destroyed in Lviv as a result of the wreckage of the enemy Shahid. The fire, which arose as a result of the previous attack, was successfully extinguished by rescuers.
