In Ukraine, law enforcement officers exposed a large -scale criminal scheme that was engaged in the production and sale of counterfeit fuel. During 2022-2024, the officials of the two enterprises in Cherkasy region organized illegal production of gasoline and diesel without the necessary licenses. This caused significant damage to the country's economy and created serious risks to drivers' safety.
As a result of the searches conducted by the Bureau of Economic Security (Bab), 580 tons of petroleum products of unknown origin were seized, estimated at UAH 13.5 million. Counter -fuel was made of doubtful quality petroleum products, and for this purpose special equipment was used, which worked without compliance with state standards and quality control.
Finished products were sold through illegal gas stations throughout Ukraine, which could lead to serious damage to cars and threats to drivers' health due to poor fuel quality.
In addition to fuel, during the searches was removed:
- Equipment for processing raw oil and gas condensate.
- 2 tanks with a total capacity of more than 40 tons.
- Fuel and distribution column.
- A tank with 9 tons of illegal fuel.
- 500 thousand hryvnia in cash.
- Documentation confirming the illegal production, storage and sale of fuel.
- Mobile phones that contain evidence of the conspiracy of participants in the criminal scheme.
Experts have already sent samples of the seized fuel to verify compliance with state standards. The cost of excise goods seized is UAH 13.5 million.
The pre -trial investigation continues under Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal purchase, storage and transportation of excise goods for sale). The operational support of the case is carried out by SBU staff in Cherkasy region, and procedural management - prosecutors of the Attorney General's office.
