A new bill appeared in the Verkhovna Rada, which provides for a ban on the sale of energy drinks to minors and the imposition of fines for their consumption. The initiators of the document were deputies from the party "Servant of the People" Olena Vintonyak and Maria Mezentseva-Fedorenko.
According to the authors, the use of energy among young people is growing rapidly, and their composition - caffeine, sugar, carbon dioxide, taurine - can harm the health of adolescents. That is why people's deputies propose to amend the Code of Administrative Offenses.
What is envisaged by the Law No. 13025-1:
-
Minors for the use of energy or for participation in their consumption are offered a fine of 340-510 UAH, and at repeated violation - 510-680 UAH.
-
If energy was consumed by children aged 14–16, parents will be held responsible: a fine of 255-425 UAH or community service (20-40 hours).
-
For repeated violation for parents - fine 425-680 UAH.
The purpose of the bill is to reduce the consumption of harmful drinks among minors and to prevent health problems, including dependence on caffeine and stimulants.
The explanatory note states that such measures should contribute to the formation of healthy eating habits and reducing the risk of energy -related diseases.
