This morning, February 17, emergency shutdowns of electricity were again introduced in Ukraine. Disconnections apply to Kyiv and all regions of the country, DTEK reports. According to the order of Ukrenergo, energy is again forced to take urgent measures due to a number of problems in networks.
In particular, emergency shutdowns of light have already begun in Kyiv, Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions. In Sumy region, from 8:30 there are schedules of emergency shutdowns for the first two queues of consumers. Representatives of Cherkasyoblenergo urged residents to reduce the use of electrical appliances to reduce the load on the network. In particular, it was recommended not to use powerful electrical appliances.
The time during which emergency shutdowns are up to 15 minutes, and both domestic and legal consumers will be switched off. At the same time, Poltavaoblenergo also confirmed the use of two queues of emergency shutdowns, the decision of which was made today at 08:17.
According to Ukrenergo representatives, the strengthening of restrictions is associated with the consequences of Russian attacks on energy objects. The first priority will be disconnected by industrial consumers and businesses, while restrictions for household consumers are rarely used, only in cases of emergencies.
The Kyiv Digital Appendix has a report of current lack of electricity in the city, which is why there are also emergency shutdowns that do not fit the schedules.
Recall that such light restrictions began to be used in Ukraine in early February due to damage to energy objects due to Russian attacks. As a result of rocket and drone, the objects of generation and the power grid were significantly affected, which forced energy to resort to emergency shutdowns to ensure the stability of the system.
