With the beginning of autumn, flu, SARS and COVID-19 diseases are increasing in Ukraine. According to the latest data, the number of cases among adults increased by 5.4%, and among children - by 2.8%. In some regions, the situation is particularly tense: in two regions of Ukraine, the epidemic threshold has been exceeded.
Thus, according to official sources of information, 124,109 people fell ill with SARS in Ukraine last week (October 21-27), including 76,689 children. Compared to the previous week, according to epidemiological surveillance, the number of SARS patients among adults and children under the age of 17 increased by 5.4% and 2.8%, respectively. The intensive indicator of SARS, including COVID-19, is 344.5 per 100,000 population, which is 28.7% less than the epidemic threshold calculated for Ukraine, but 3.8% more than the similar indicator last week.
During the reporting week of October 21-27, 4 deaths were registered among persons who tested positive for COVID-19. during the reporting week, 18,514 people received preventive vaccination against influenza, including 11,797 people from medical and epidemic risk groups. Currently, the epidemic threshold has been exceeded in Ternopil and Chernivtsi regions. Pre-epidemic levels are observed in other regions of Ukraine.
And these are only official statistics, in reality, everything is not so rosy - the flu epidemic that is currently raging in Ukraine has become one of the most dangerous in history. This is due to problems with energy supply and heating, which have become chronic for Ukrainian cities.
