Valery Zaluzhnyi's new position
On February 8, 2024, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, signed the Decree on the resignation of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valery Zaluzhny. In March, he was appointed ambassador to Great Britain.
"Today I approved the candidacy of the Ambassador of our country to Great Britain. General Valery Zaluzhnyi spoke to me about such a direction for himself — diplomatic," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on March 7.
The head of state also confirmed that a request has been sent to Britain for preliminary approval of the candidacy of Zaluzhnyi (agreman) for the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland.
It will be recalled that the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov officially confirmed the dismissal of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. As the Minister of Defense noted, 2024 will bring changes, so the command needs new approaches and strategies.
