Ukrainian boxer Vasyl Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KOs) has decided to withdraw from the fight with WBA champion Jervonta Davis (30-0, 28 KOs), scheduled for this year.
Lomachenko's manager, Egis Klimas, explained that currently the boxer has no motivation to return to the ring.
"Loma is not in the mood now. He wants to spend more time with his family and does not plan to enter the ring until the end of the year," Klimas told journalist Steve Kim.
According to Klimas, although a fight with Davis would promise significant financial income, money is not the main motivator for Lomachenko. "You can offer him millions, tens of millions of dollars, but if he doesn't have motivation, he won't prepare for the fight," added Klimas.
The manager also assured that Lomachenko has not finished his career.
Earlier, Vasyl Lomachenko said that his sports career is almost over. He admitted that fights are becoming more and more difficult for him.
In May, Lomachenko held a championship fight against Australian George Kambosos for the belt of the IBF lightweight world champion. The fight ended prematurely in the 11th round: Lomachenko knocked down his opponent twice, after which the fight was finished.
