Today in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv there was a shooting, which resulted in the died employee of the Security Service of Ukraine. The incident happened at about 09:00 in the morning - an unknown striker fired five sight shots at a man and fled from the crime scene.
The Security Service of Ukraine confirmed the fact of the death of its employee. According to Hromadske, Colonel Ivan Voronich is killed, but there is no official confirmation of his person.
Law enforcement officers qualified a crime under Article 348 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - an encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer. This article is punished until life imprisonment.
Investigators, the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police continue to work at the scene. All the circumstances of the crime, including the motives, as well as the person of the attacker, are established. Measures are taken to search and detain a likely killer.
This incident has caused resonance in the capital, because it is not only about the murder of the SBU employee, but also about a daring armed attack in the center of Kiev. The SBU promises to do everything possible to install the perpetrators and bring them accountable.
