The scandal around MOON Records Music Label is gaining momentum. The co -founder of Andriy Pasichnyk was wanted on suspicion of copyright fraud on the songs of the late Kuzma Scriabin. The Office of the Prosecutor General accuses him of organizing a scheme to deliberately lower the number of listening to the compositions of the artist on stringing platforms, so as not to pay the adequate funds to the widow Kuzma, Svetlana Babiychuk.
After the tragic death of Kuzma Skryabin, all copyrights of his work passed to his wife. Babychuk created a company that had to manage these rights. In 2015, she concluded an agreement with Moon Records, for which she had to receive 70% of income from the artist's listening, while the label remained 30%. However, instead of the promised payments, the widow received large -scale problems.
The investigation found that the management of Moon Records deliberately concealed the true volume of listening to Scriabin songs. Moreover, the company used a controlled foreign firm for laundering income from the artist's work. As a result of such frauds, Svetlana Babiychuk was looked at at least 1.5 million hryvnias.
Earlier, the suspicion was presented to the director of Labe Tatiana Korchma. According to the prosecutor's office, she forged documents that confirmed allegedly low income from Skryabin's work, and participated directly in the schemes for concealing funds. Currently, the indictment on Korchmava is transferred to court, where it faces up to 12 years in prison for large fraud and forgery.
Andriy Pasichnyk himself denies his involvement in crimes and continues to avoid law enforcement. However, according to the prosecutor's office, they have enough evidence that indicate its key role in fraud.
This is not only a matter of restoring justice for the family of Kuzma Scriabin, but also an important signal for the musical industry. Copyright fraud remains a serious problem that requires attention not only from law enforcement but also to society. Now the fate of justice in the hands of the court, which must establish a measure of responsibility of the management of Moon Records.
