Fedir Venislavskyi, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, shared his thoughts on the reservation situation in Ukraine in an interview with Radio NV. According to him, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy could get the total number of those who are currently booked, but this is not representative information that reflects the growth dynamics of this category.
Venislavsky neither confirmed nor denied the information that the president was outraged by the number of prisoners in Ukraine. "I do not have such information, I did not communicate with the president, so I cannot confirm or deny this information," he said.
During the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, the problems related to the reservation of conscripts for critical infrastructure enterprises were discussed. According to the people's deputy, there are abuses in the process of booking by enterprises, which needs attention.
Venislavsky emphasized that it is not entirely correct to draw a linear relationship between the increase in the number of prisoners and the mechanisms introduced by the government. Changes in the legislation on mobilization, which provided for reservation mechanisms, led to the transfer of a significant number of Ukrainian citizens who had the right to postponement to the status of reservations.
Among those who received "reservations" are police officers who previously had the right to deferment, but now all of them fall under the new reservation mechanisms. Venislavsky suggested that the president was given the total number of those booked to date.
