Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups (DRG) are actively trying to penetrate the territory of Sumy and Chernihiv regions. Such attempts are often accompanied by attacks on civilians and infrastructure.
This was announced by Vadym Mysnyk, spokesman for the Operational-Tactical Group “Siversk,” on the air of the channel “We Ukraine.” He emphasized that the danger in the border areas remains constant.
"The threat of enemy DRG activity persists all the time. We record the presence of Russian special forces who conduct reconnaissance of our defensive positions or terrorize the civilian population," Mysnyk noted.
According to the spokesman, the Russians are not only conducting reconnaissance, but also resorting to destroying infrastructure, destroying transport, and shelling civilians. Such actions are part of a strategy of intimidation and destabilization of the regions.
"There are cases when saboteurs shot at civilians. This creates additional risks for the population and requires the constant readiness of our military to repel threats," he added.
To detect and neutralize DRGs, Ukrainian defenders use all available forces and technical means. Coordination between units ensures an effective response to attempted invasions.
"We are constantly working to timely detect saboteurs and prevent their actions. Our military confidently fulfills their tasks, protecting civilians and territories from threats," Mysnyk emphasized.
Recall that since the beginning of January 2025, Russian troops have significantly increased the intensity of shelling of the Sumy region, exceeding previous figures by four times. Ukrainian fighters continue to restrain these attacks, reducing the consequences for the civilian population.
