Russian sabotage and intelligence groups (DRG) are actively trying to infiltrate the territory of the Sumy and Chernihiv regions. Such attempts are often accompanied by attacks on civilians and infrastructure facilities.
This was announced by the spokesman of the Operational Tactical Group "Siversk", Vadym Mysnyk, on the air of the "We Ukraine" channel. He emphasized that the danger in the border areas remains constant.
"The threat of the activity of enemy DRGs persists all the time. We record the presence of Russian special forces, which conduct reconnaissance of our defense positions or terrorize the civilian population," Mysnyk noted.
According to the spokesman, the Russians not only carry out reconnaissance, but also resort to destruction of infrastructure, destruction of transport and shelling of civilians. Such actions are part of the strategy of intimidation and destabilization of the regions.
"There are cases when saboteurs shot at civilians. This creates additional risks for the population and requires the constant readiness of our military to repel threats," he added.
Ukrainian defenders use all available forces and technical means to identify and neutralize the DRG. Coordination between units ensures an effective response to intrusion attempts.
"We are constantly working to identify saboteurs in a timely manner and prevent their actions. Our military confidently fulfills its tasks, protecting civilians and territories from threats," Mysnyk emphasized.
We will remind you that since the beginning of January 2025, Russian troops have significantly increased the intensity of shelling of the Sumy region, which has exceeded the previous indicators by four times. Ukrainian fighters continue to contain these attacks, reducing the consequences for the civilian population.
