In Ukraine, an increase in electricity prices for businesses is expected in autumn, but tariffs for the population will remain at the current level. This was reported by the National Commission for State Regulation in the Energy and Utilities Sectors (NKREKP).
On October 1, the NCRECP will consider the draft resolution, which provides for the review of limit prices on the day-ahead, intraday and balancing markets. The purpose of this decision is to create conditions for the import of electricity from European countries, which will help compensate for a possible deficit during the autumn-winter period, especially in the conditions of Russian shelling of the energy infrastructure.
As explained by NKREKP, the changes are aimed at balancing the Ukrainian energy system and ensuring a stable electricity supply for all categories of consumers. At the same time, the regulator assures that the price increase will not affect the tariffs for the population, which will remain fixed until May 1 next year.
Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko also confirmed that electricity tariffs for household consumers will not be revised until the spring of 2024.
