The latest statements of the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, once again emphasized Ukraine's steadfast position on the peaceful settlement of the armed conflict with Russia. According to Kyiv's position, the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from the territory of Ukraine is the only accepted condition for ending the war.
The Ukrainian authorities are sure that only under this condition can the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country be restored, as well as the safety of the Ukrainian people.
"Complete and unconditional withdrawal of Russian troops from the entire territory of Ukraine. Cancellation of illegal annexations. Demilitarization and de-occupation of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. Restoring freedom of movement," he listed Kyiv's conditions in an article for the Latvian publication LSM.
At the same time, he added that "we are ready to take into account the interests of other interested parties. However, any adjustments should be based on international law and justice, the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine's borders, as well as our full sovereignty."
"We cannot and will not accept proposals that threaten the very existence of Ukraine," he added.
We will remind that Yermak recently allowed negotiations with Russia after the withdrawal of its troops from Ukraine by the 2022 border.
Russia rejects these demands and declares that it will continue its offensive at the front. At the same time, the Kremlin declares that it is ready for negotiations regarding Ukraine, but "taking into account the realities on the ground."
