The former US Deputy Secretary of State, Victoria Nuland, announced that Ukraine will have access to new long-range weapons on the front provided by partners this summer.
Nuland noted that over the past three years, the United States has provided significant military and economic support to Kyiv. Special funds were created for the reconstruction of critical infrastructure, providing energy support and humanitarian aid. In addition, the Special Representative for Economic Recovery of Ukraine, Penny Pritzker, is working to revitalize Ukrainian cities so that people can return home and restore export opportunities.
However, according to Nuland, while European and Asian allies are providing Ukraine with more and more financial support, Russia is causing more and more damage. According to some estimates, up to a thousand Russian soldiers die at the front every day in order to advance a few kilometers and take a few villages.
Nuland expressed her belief that the United States will continue its support to Ukraine, in particular through new and long-range weapons, which will be used on the front already this summer.
Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that Germany, together with France and Poland, purchases more weapons for the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the world market. After the meeting of the "Weimar Triangle" in Berlin, Scholz noted that this approach was agreed with French President Emmanuel Macron and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
In addition, according to the German chancellor, the three countries agreed on a "new coalition of long-range rocket artillery" for the Ukrainian army. The coalition for procurement of long-range artillery will be formed within the Ramstein contact group, which consists of 50 countries and meets regularly to organize support for Ukraine in the war against Russia.
