On the evening of November 13, 2025, Kyiv City Council deputy and head of the Servant of the People faction Andriy Vitrenko reported the discovery of a device for reading and transmitting information - simply put, a wiretapping device - in his official car. The politician has already filed a corresponding statement and informed law enforcement agencies about the find.
Vitrenko noted that the wiretapping could have been carried out by both law enforcement officials and unknown persons, and put forward all possible versions. In addition to his parliamentary activities, he holds the position of Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine.
"If this is established within the framework of the Law, I am ready for any cooperation with law enforcement agencies! If not, I associate it with my public political position. I have submitted a corresponding application to law enforcement agencies, as provided for by law," the deputy noted.
Andriy Vitrenko appealed to the State Bureau of Investigation, the Security Service of Ukraine, and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine to assess the situation, especially if the wiretapping is related to his political activities. The deputy also demonstrated the device itself, which was installed in the car's interior - several wires were attached to the panel, probably to the lighting in the passenger compartment, on red tape, which indicates a hasty installation.
Law enforcement officers are currently investigating the circumstances and origin of the device, and Vitrenko called for a transparent investigation and assessment of the possible illegal interference in his private and professional life.
