On the eve of Easter, Ukrainians face another purse on the wallet - the festive basket went up by 17% compared to 2024. If last year the Easter set of products for a family of four people cost about 1422 hryvnias, then this year - already UAH 1663.26. And if you add vegetables, fruits and wine to the basket, the cost of celebration will reach 2009.76, which is almost 22% more than last year.
Yuriy Lupenko, Director of the National Scientific Center "Institute of Agrarian Economics". He explained that the causes of growth were high demand, rise in price of raw materials and the impact of war on the agricultural sector and logistics.
Easter eggs, eggs, meat and vegetables have increased most.
Easter cake - the highest price jump,
the cost of cooking the Easter Easter by the classic recipe increased by 38.6% and is 318.4 UAH for 3-4 products for 500-600 g. Homemade Easter cake, eggs, butter, milk, sugar, yeast and highlights costs 232.96.
The main reasons are the increase in prices for butter (up to 121 UAH per 200 g), milk (30 UAH per 0.5 l), eggs (58 UAH per 8 pieces), flour (+62.4%) and sugar (+16.8%).
Eggs - demand pulls up prices upwards
chicken eggs, an indispensable product in a basket, almost 30%went up for a year. The average price is 76.4 UAH per ten. Analysts say that due to a festive hype, a significant decline is not expected until May, when households increase the supply.
Meat and milk - they rise more than inflation,
meat products occupy the highest proportion of the basket. Homemade sausage costs 212.5 UAH for 0.5 kg, pork - 303 UAH, and fat - 123 UAH. The growth ranged from 2.5% to 16.5%. The butter was up to 37.8%, solid cheese - almost 9%, soft - by more than 11%.
Vegetables, fruits, wine - not every vegetables
and fruits show particularly sharp growth: cucumbers and tomatoes went up by an average of 80%. Apples - 60-70%. Even the traditional Kagor will become a more expensive element of celebration.
War as a permanent factor of influence
experts are unanimous - a key factor in the price remains the war. It affects agricultural production, transport logistics, infrastructure, and energy costs. Although some products, such as flour or sugar, have fallen a little in March, in the annual section, their price has still increased.
So this year, a festive table for many Ukrainian families will be a real financial challenge.
