It is predicted that Ukraine will run out of ammunition and will be permanently behind in the war with Russia for several months. This will continue until the West agrees to further steps to support Kyiv.
This was stated by the Chief of Defense Staff of Great Britain, Tony Radakin.
Speaking at a conference in London, the admiral avoided direct comment on France's proposal to deploy Western ground forces in Ukraine, but he noted the urgent need for increased industrial aid.
The military leader noted that the Ukrainian army faced a difficult situation on land, as it lacked ammunition and supplies. This is due to the suspension of US military aid by the Republicans in Congress, while Europe is yet to fill the gap.
Radakin noted that NATO allies are discussing the issue of strengthening support for Ukraine. New announcements are expected during or before the July NATO summit in Washington.
Ukrainian defenders are experiencing a shortage of artillery shells, which directly affects the situation at the front. Recently, they had to retreat from Avdiivka due to the difficult situation.
It will be recalled that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, stated that Kyiv would not have lost Avdiyivka if the allies had delivered artillery shells on time.
Earlier, the British government announced the allocation of a package of ammunition worth 245 million pounds, which are critical for Ukraine's war against Russia.
