Analyst Oleksandr Kochetkov notes the emergence of a new political heavyweight — Valery Zaluzhny. This process is already obvious, and if it happens as if by itself, it does not change anything - the result is the same.
A NEW POLITICAL HEAVYWEIGHT HAS APPEARED
Who is about what, and the political analyst is about politics.
For me, an important political conclusion of the year was the appearance of a new potential leader in Ukraine — Valery Zaluzhny.
It is not certain that this is a conscious position of Zaluzhny, it may well be that it is mostly composed almost by itself. But it does not change the essence. Moreover, the commander-in-chief himself does not confirm his political ambitions, but he does not deny them either.
The fact that there are purely political-technological maneuvers around Zaluzhnyi adds to the intrigue. In particular, sociological studies that show its high rating. Professionals are well aware that such research is also a tool: potential voters automatically gravitate towards highly rated persons, begin to involuntarily imagine their future chances, and so on.
Interviews, especially with foreign media, are also a common tool of politicians. Because it is a lever of social influence.
At the same time, such a promising leader is beginning to be considered as a possible partner. For example, I completely understand the interest in Valery Zaluzhny from the political power of Petro Poroshenko. Because he perfectly, effortlessly fits into the concept of the former president's return to power.
There are also quite strange things. For example, the election of Zaluzhny as the hetman of Ukraine or naming him after a star. I don't know why this is necessary, probably someone wants to draw attention to himself in this way - either Zaluzhny himself or his entourage. But paraphrasing the well-known saying - "If the stars are calling, then someone needs it."
One way or another, but now there are two Valery Zaluzhnyis in Ukraine: one is the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces, the other is an actual political figure. And therefore his responsibility is doubled. As the commander-in-chief, he is responsible for the course of hostilities to repel the aggressor. As a politician, he bears additional responsibility not only for his public actions and words, but also for the actions and words of his entourage and even his supporters. You may not like it, but there is no other way.
The same axiom is that at one time Valery Zaluzhny will have to decide whether to remain a soldier or become a politician. I hope that this determination will take place this year.
The war against a cruel and powerful enemy - the Russian Empire - carries great risks for the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces. But as a specialist, I am convinced that the political path is associated with even greater risks - this is the attitude of society to the inevitable mobilization, and the appearance of political opponents with their opposition, and many other things, in part, frankly dirty, with which, unfortunately, modern Ukrainian politics.
