Some Ukrainians have the right to a preferential tariff for electricity supply, in particular those who live in houses with electric heating. However, it is worth noting that the preferential tariff will not be calculated automatically.
As People's Deputy Serhiy Nagornyak explained, in order to receive a preferential tariff, you need to have a document for an apartment or house with a mark from the relevant services, such as BTI or private companies dealing with technical passports. This document must confirm that the object is equipped with an electric boiler. Then, with this document, you should contact the local REM or the regional REM.
In cities with a separate service provider, for example in Kyiv, it is necessary to contact him with the relevant document so that the first 2,000 kWh per month will be calculated at the rate of 2.64 hryvnias. It is also important to have a document confirming the presence of electric heating and disconnection of the home from central heating.
We would like to remind you that Cabinet Resolution No. 632 dated May 31, 2024 established a single fixed price for electricity in Ukraine at the level of UAH 4.32/kWh, which is 60% more than the previous tariff. The Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko confirmed that the electricity tariff will not be reviewed until April 30, 2025, which will ensure price stability during the autumn-winter period.
