Which Ukrainian drones can fly hundreds of kilometers deep into Russia

Currently, defenders of Ukraine have intensified attacks on strategically important objects deep in the rear of the occupiers, using attack unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), also known as "kamikaze drones". According to the analysis of open sources of information (OSINT) carried out by Hay Sutton, the considered varieties of these aircraft are used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to carry out attacks:

  1. Mugin-5: A Chinese UAV that was already used during the attack on the headquarters of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol and other strategic facilities in August 2022.
  2. Ukrjet UJ-22 Airborne: A single-engine drone with a payload capacity of up to 20 kilograms, used in the attacks on Moscow in February 2023.
  3. Morok: OWA-UAV, developed on the basis of the RZ-60 target drone, with a flight range of 300 kilometers and a warhead weighing 3 kilograms.
  4. UJ-25 Skyline: A jet-powered drone with distinctive sweep wings about which information is limited.
  5. UJ-26 Beaver ("Beaver"): Introduced in 2023, has a flight range of 1,000 kilometers and a payload of 20 kilograms, was used for attacks on Moscow.
  6. Lyutyi ("Furious"): A large drone with a design reminiscent of the Antonov AN-BK-1 "Gorlytsia" that crashed in Nizhny Novgorod last month.
  7. AQ-400 Scythe (“Scythe”): A project already in serial production with a flight range of 750 kilometers and a payload of 32 kilograms.
  8. Unnamed Types: Varieties of UAVs, including an unspecified type that may turn out to be the newest kamikaze drone of Ukrainian development.

The UAVs listed above are used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine for attacks on strategically important objects in the depths of Russia, which helps to increase the awareness of Russian citizens about the war, create an additional load on air defense and increase the overall complexity of air defense.
