According to the information provided by our source in the President's Office, Andriy Yermak instructed Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba to do everything possible to attract the leaders of the countries of the Global South to a peace summit in Switzerland. The President's office understands that if the meeting of world leaders is not held, it will not only be a failure for Zelenskyi's peace formula, but also a strong blow for international reconciliation. Last year, Bankova postponed the summit three times due to the refusal of the leaders of the Global South to participate in it, which created the impression of Ukraine's isolation on the peace track and the refusal of some European Union countries to support Zelenskyi's formula.
According to the expressed hopes of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, in an interview for the Yedyni Novyni telethon, Ukraine will agree with Switzerland on the date of the first inaugural Peace Summit in the coming days. It is noted that the list of countries that will take part in the event has not yet been established. As soon as the President of Ukraine agrees on the date of the summit with the President of the Swiss Confederation, invitations will be sent to world leaders.
According to the President, 80-100 countries of the world are expected to participate in the summit, which will be recognized as the most powerful inaugural event. It is noted that this is an important event during which the partnership will be discussed and further steps to end the war will be planned. The President also emphasized that only with joint efforts the world can stop Russia's aggression, therefore representatives of countries from all continents are expected at the summit.
The first inaugural Peace Summit will be held in Switzerland based on the Ukrainian Peace Formula. At it, the participating countries will prepare a joint action plan for a just peace for Ukraine.
