The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a new draft law, which provides for mandatory registration of conscripts at the age of 17. This decision was prompted by the need to improve military reform and ensure the country's defense readiness.
According to the text of the project, from January 1 to July 31, citizens who turn 17 in the year of registration must undergo electronic identification of personal data in the Electronic Office of a conscript, conscript, or reservist. Or appear in person at the TCC with a list of documents established by the Ministry of Defense.
Only the following reasons are possible for non-appearance: illness, an obstacle of a natural nature, living in temporarily occupied territories or the territory of hostilities, as well as "other circumstances" (the list is not specified).
This project also states that women who are fit for military service due to their health and age and who have expressed a desire to undergo basic military service, will be included in the military registration of conscripts upon their application. And after completing the basic military service, they will be taken to the military register of conscripts.
