In Lviv region, a scheme of illegal accrual of "combat" surcharges for servicemen who were not in the front is exposed. The chief of staff of one of the battalions of the terroboron brigade is suspected of falsification of documents, on the basis of which to servicemen unreasonably paid more than 35 million hryvnias.
According to the investigation, during August-December 2023, the official introduced false information to official reports. The documents stated that subordinates allegedly perform combat missions directly on the line of contact with the enemy. This was the basis for the monthly accrual of payments of 100 thousand hryvnias.
In fact, the battalion performed tasks in the rear areas where there was no fighting. Payments in no way corresponded to real participation in combat operations.
The chief of staff has already been informed of the suspicion. His actions are qualified under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - Part 2 of Art. 367 (official negligence that caused grave consequences) and Part 4 of Art. 425 (negligent attitude to military service in martial law).
The issue of choosing a preventive measure is currently being resolved. The investigation is ongoing.
