Water pollution in the Desna River, which was recorded a few days ago, continues to move in the direction of Kyiv. However, according to the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, the concentration of harmful substances gradually decreases due to natural dilution with water. Kyivvodokanal assured that the situation currently does not pose a threat to the capital's drinking water supply.
Water pollution in the Desna River has advanced 242 km and is moving towards Kyiv, however, due to dilution, the water contains fragmented pollution with a lower concentration. First Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine Oleksandr Krasnolutskyi told about this on the air of the telethon.
The pollution reached the Chernihiv region and advanced along the Desna River for 242 km, it is moving towards Kyiv due to the current. In connection with the dilution of water, non-continuous pollution is coming to Kyiv, but only fragmentation and less concentration
According to him, now the indicators of water intake on the Seim River are improving, it is being purified, at the same time, the pollution of the Desna continues.
Kyivvodokanal is fully prepared to purify water in order to supply Kyiv residents with water that meets sanitary standards. So far, there are no threats to the drinking water supply of Kyiv residents
