The Russian army has significantly strengthened its military presence in the Black Sea, deploying a record number of missile carriers. According to the information of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of the morning of September 14, there are 16 enemy ships in the waters of the Black Sea, seven of which are carriers of Kalibr cruise missiles. The total salvo can reach up to 48 missiles, which is a serious threat to the security of Ukraine and the entire Black Sea region.
This is almost the entire composition of missile carriers of the Black Sea Fleet of Russia, which are at its disposal. Both surface ships and underwater submarines are on duty, ready to use high-precision weapons. Military analysts note that such an active withdrawal of the Russian fleet may indicate preparations for new massive missile attacks on Ukrainian cities.
Unlike the Black Sea, no enemy ships have been detected in the Sea of Azov. There are five Russian ships in the Mediterranean Sea, four of which also carry Caliber missiles, the total salvo of which can reach 24 missiles.
In addition, it is known that several civilian ships passed through the Kerch Strait during the day. Three of them went to the Black Sea, and five to the Sea of Azov. This shows that the Russian Federation continues to use the Kerch Strait for its own interests, despite international conventions.
Despite the constant presence of cruise missile carriers in the Black Sea, the latest data indicate that the Caliber missiles are no longer an effective tool in the hands of the Russian Federation. Dmytro Pletenchuk, the spokesman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, noted that the enemy uses these missiles mainly for combined attacks, but in fact 100% of them are destroyed in flight by Ukrainian air defense.
Pletenchuk emphasized that the main function of "Calibers" in modern conditions is not the task of destructive strikes, but the creation of an additional load on the air defense system of Ukraine.
