At an international seminar organized by the Royal Netherlands Army and the Bundeswehr, Ambassador of Ukraine to Great Britain and former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valery Zaluzhnyi shared his assessment of the development of modern military technologies and their impact on the strategy of conducting military operations. According to Zaluzhny, the technological revolution, which includes unmanned systems and artificial intelligence, is already creating ideal conditions for waging a war of attrition.
Zaluzhnyi emphasized that the future of war may consist in the destruction of strategic military and civilian infrastructure on the territory of the enemy, which will create conditions for the depletion of its resources. This approach, in his opinion, will become the main strategy for achieving political goals.
Speaking at the seminar, Zaluzhny outlined the importance of forming a country's "sustainability" system. According to him, countries must not only have powerful defense capabilities, but also ensure the stability of their infrastructure and resources, which will allow them to withstand prolonged aggression and successfully resist exhaustion from the enemy.
Such strategic thinking, according to Zaluzhnyi, is invaluable for all allies of Ukraine, because it gives an idea of what defense will be like in the near future, when the war will be fought not only on the battlefield, but also in the digital environment and at the level of infrastructure stability.
