Zaporizhzhia: under the guise of hospital renovation, medical care is being curtailed and the ground is being prepared for private business

In Zaporizhia, they are preparing to close the 9th city hospital, supposedly for major repairs. Officially, the reconstruction of several buildings is reported to be completed, but in reality, the hospital has already begun to lose its functionality: departments are being disbanded, patients are being transferred to other institutions, and medical staff is being reduced. This is not an isolated case: the city is experiencing a systemic collapse of the municipal medical infrastructure.

Of particular concern is that this hospital provided critical care, including receiving seriously wounded soldiers and performing complex surgeries. Now, such patients may be left without proper treatment.

There are reasonable suspicions that this is a targeted policy - to bring state medicine to collapse in order to force people to turn to private clinics. Some of these clinics, according to available information, have a direct connection with Ivan Fedorov's team. In particular, the "St. Nicholas Clinic", which is actively expanding, belongs to his godfather - the same one who in 2023 took control of the Metalurh football club and began rebuilding its sports facilities.

In parallel with the hospital, another dubious story is unfolding with the premises at 37A Tovariska Street. After a major renovation for 11 million in 2023, a new tender for 34 million was announced in 2024. The reason is “project adjustments”. At the same time, Prozorro does not even have basic data: technical conditions, areas, scope of work or contractors. The municipal enterprise “Gradproekt Melitopolya” is mentioned, which previously appeared in similar deals.

All this points not to ordinary inefficiency, but to a purposeful scheme of budget cuts under the guise of supposedly caring about medicine. And if these processes are not stopped, Zaporizhia medicine will finally turn into a business for the elite, inaccessible to the majority of citizens.
